Softball Recap: Weyauwega-Fremont Takes a Loss

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Weyauwega-Fremont nor Amherst made it on the board until the ninth inning. The Warhawks fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 3-1. The Warhawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Falcons earlier this season, when they won 1-0.

Olivia Witkowski spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Weyauwega-Fremont's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Amherst, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-12.

As of now, neither Weyauwega-Fremont nor the Falcons have any future games scheduled.
