Recap: Fort Bend Kempner Cougars vs. Angleton Wildcats
This season hasn't been kind to The Fort Bend Kempner Cougars, who are still winless after their tenth game. They were dealt a 48-6 defeat at the hands of Angleton on Friday. Fort Bend Kempner was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-0.
Grayson Green threw for 101 yards and a touchdown. Luke Maxson was his top target, picking up 59 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Makai Jenkins rushed for 65 yards.
The critical scores for Angleton came from Elijah Simmons, Jaqualen Alexander, and Bryce Duron.
Angleton's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB 5.5 times. Leading the way was Amayas Martinez and his two sacks.
Fort Bend Kempner's defeat was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-10. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.5 points per game. As for Angleton, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Fort Bend Kempner does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Angleton will square off against Ball at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ball is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
