            Softball Recap: Newmarket Mules vs. Farmington Tigers        
        
		
        
        
            Newmarket had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Farmington Tigers as they made off with  a  25-7 win. The Mules might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 12  runs or more this season.
 Emma Surina was a  major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances with two  stolen bases and three  runs.

 In other batting news,  Hannah Chesley was  incredible,  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances with four  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  RBI. Those  four  stolen bases gave  her a new career-high.  Anika Benson was another key player,  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances with three  runs and one  stolen base.
 Newmarket  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .841. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  OBP total in three consecutive  contests.
Newmarket's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Farmington,  they are  on  a  ten-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-10.
 Coming up, Newmarket will square off against Mascenic Regional at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Farmington, they will challenge Pittsfield at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 9.1  runs per game this season.
