Josiah Parker and Braden Moore secure win for Lee County

Recap: Lee County Trojans vs. Houston County Bears

The Lee County Trojans had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They walked away with a 67-60 victory over Houston County. Given Lee County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Houston County is ranked 121st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lee County was led to victory by Josiah Parker and Braden Moore. Parker dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, while Moore scored 16 points along with eight assists. Parker is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ousmane Kromah, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.

Houston County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jah'shon Fordham, who scored 16 points. Malik Gillespie was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Lee County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. As for Houston County, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lee County will take on Tift County at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Tift County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Houston County, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Thomas County Central at 4:30 p.m. Houston County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 191 points over their last three games.
