Softball Recap: Harper Creek Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

While Harper Creek put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Hastings. The Beavers didn't even let the Saxons on the board, marking the Beavers' second-straight 15-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Beavers in their matchups with the Saxons: they've now won eight in a row.

Kennedy Halverson and Sophie Kline did most of the damage at the plate: Halverson went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Kline went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Kline has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Beckett Carpenter, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Harper Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.

Harper Creek's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Hastings, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

Coincidentally, Harper Creek and Hastings will both be playing Marshall the next time they take the field. The Beavers will head out to face the Redhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Saxons will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on the 13th.
