Basketball Game Preview: Floresville Tigers/Jaguars vs. La Vernia Bears

The Floresville Tigers/Jaguars will venture away from home to take on the La Vernia Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, Floresville didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Pearsall, but they still walked away with a 58-54 victory.

Meanwhile, La Vernia came tearing into Monday's match with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.4 points), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Rockets as they made off with a 71-45 win. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 21 points or more this season.

Floresville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-17 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points over those games. As for La Vernia, they pushed their record up to 24-9 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home.

Floresville came up short against La Vernia when the teams last played back in November of 2021, falling 67-58. Can Floresville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
