Sherwood had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They snuck past the Poolesville Falcons with a 61-57 win. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Falcons are ranked 208th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alexavier Saunders, who posted 23 points. Another player making a difference was Armaan Jain, who scored 15 points.

Sherwood's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Poolesville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Sherwood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 74-69 win against Blake on the 18th. As for Poolesville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-44 victory against Churchill on the 18th.
