Football Recap: Vashon Island Takes a Loss

Vashon Island had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-6 to make it seven. They were outmatched by the Klahowya Eagles and fell 42-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Memphis Cress threw for 31 yards while completing 77.8% of his passes. On the ground, Tallis Sullivan rushed for 46 yards.

As for Klahowya, their record now sits at 2-5. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Leading Klahowya to victory were Nathan West and Dalton Watson. West gained 85 total yards and three touchdowns, while Watson threw for 123 yards and three TDs on only ten passes. West also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making one tackle.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Vashon Island will head out to challenge Centralia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.83 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Klahowya, they are taking a road trip to square off against Cascade Christian at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th. The Cougars' defense has only allowed 14.5 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them.
