Football Recap: Caleb Muszynski's Big Game Can't Quite Lead North Bay Haven Academy over North Florida Christian

North Bay Haven Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 26-20 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Florida Christian Eagles. The Buccaneers were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

North Bay Haven Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Muszynski, who rushed for 40 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 27 yards and one touchdown. Zander Stillgess helped out on the ground, rushing for 165 yards.

North Bay Haven Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Noah Powers and Tay Brooks. Another thorn in North Florida Christian's side was Tyler Murzyn, who picked up two sacks, made ten total tackles (4.0 for loss), and defended one pass.

Tommy Coyne looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 225 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

North Bay Haven Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for North Florida Christian, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Bay Haven Academy will welcome Bay at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th. As for North Florida Christian, they will face off against Indian Rocks Christian at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th.
