After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Canyon View brought some dynamite into their most recent game. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Campo Verde Coyotes a 10-0 shutout on Wednesday. Considering the Jaguars have won 15 matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Emily Davis made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Makenzie Jones was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Brooke Downs, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Canyon View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Campo Verde only posted an OBP of .160.
