Baseball Recap: Alonso Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Alonso won the last time they faced Robinson and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Alonso Ravens came out on top against the Robinson Knights by a score of 5-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ravens.

Alonso got a great performance from Julian Batista as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Batista also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Alonso is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-3 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jordan Campos, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Ihonathan Perez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Alonso's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Robinson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.

Alonso will be playing in front of their home fans against Durant at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Durant will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Alonso surely won't give up without a fight. As for Robinson, they are taking a road trip to take on Bloomingdale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Robinson 3.3, Bloomingdale 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
