Softball Recap: Northern Bedford County Has No Trouble Against Juniata Valley

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Southern Huntingdon County, Northern Bedford County was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Juniata Valley Hornets with a sharp 8-2 victory. That six run margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

Mylee Mitchell made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Kaylee Ebersole was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Justina Thomas was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Northern Bedford County's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6. As for Juniata Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5-1 record this season.

Northern Bedford County will head out to square off against McConnellsburg at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Juniata Valley, they will host Penns Valley Area at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
