Baseball Recap: Thursday's Loss Ends Caledonia's Winning Streak

After a string of four wins, Caledonia's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 6-2 to the Itawamba Agricultural Indians. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Indians this season, with their most recent loss being a 15-0 defeat two weeks ago.

Caledonia got a good showing from Chandler Cobb, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Cobb also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Cavaliers are 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 11-12 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Aaron Harris made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Caledonia's defeat dropped their record down to 15-14. As for Itawamba Agricultural, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-8 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Itawamba Agricultural beat Caledonia by a score of 6-2 on Friday.
