Softball Recap: Wood River Snags Seventh Victory in Last Nine Games

Wood River won the last time they faced Mountain Home and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wolverines were the clear victors by an 18-8 margin over the Tigers. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Marlee McLean was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last 15 matchups. Another player making a difference was Hadley Elsbree, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Wood River kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in ten consecutive contests.

Wood River is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games. As for Mountain Home, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.
