Basketball Recap: Stockton Comes Up Short

Stockton lost against St. John's/Tipton Catholic back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Stockton Tigers took a blow against the St. John's/Tipton Catholic Blujays, falling 78-39. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-22.

Edward Horinek continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for St. John's/Tipton Catholic, going 10-for-18 en route to 22 points in addition to six assists and six boards. The contest was Horinek's tenth in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Tyson Gates, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 10 points and five steals.

Stockton has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for St. John's/Tipton Catholic, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers duke it out with the Cardinals on Tuesday. As for St. John's/Tipton Catholic, they will venture away from home to challenge Pike Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in St. John's/Tipton Catholic's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 games.
