Iota has gone a perfect 8-0 against Northwest recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. Iota will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Iota got the win against Mamou by a conclusive 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 15 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Chloe Bordelon and Addison Cormier did most of the damage at the plate: Bordelon went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Cormier scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Haydyn Schexnayder, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Iota hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Northwest fell victim to Crowley and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Gent, falling 17-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Gent: they've now lost six in a row.

Iota pushed their record up to 24-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Northwest, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Iota took their victory against Northwest when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 21-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
