Baseball Recap: Henry County Has No Trouble Against Owen County

Henry County won the last time they faced Owen County and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wildcats blew past the Rebels 8-1. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won five matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Jaylan Hortenbury spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nicholas Bryan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Camden Peyton was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Henry County's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Owen County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.
