Basketball Recap: Bloomington South Piles Up the Points Against Martinsville

Bloomington South came tearing into Saturday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 70-43 win over the Martinsville Artesians. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 26 points or more this season.

Martinsville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ty Stroud, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zhane Capshaw, who put up eight points.

Bloomington South has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Martinsville, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bloomington South will venture away from home to take on Terre Haute South Vigo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Martinsville, they are taking a road trip to face off against Franklin Community at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Franklin Community's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
