Softball Recap: Rich Hill Takes a Loss

Rich Hill had lost 15 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 3-15 to make it 16. They came up short against the Hume Hornets, falling 15-0. Considering the last time the Tigers couldn't score was back in April, the team can't take the result too hard.

As for Hume, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Considering they have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For Hume's part, they let Paris Brooks and Jaylin Toms run wild. Brooks got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI, while Toms went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those two RBI gave Brooks a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dalley Steuck, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

As of now, neither Rich Hill nor Hume have any future games scheduled.
