Football Game Preview: Brazos Christian Eagles vs. Sacred Heart Indians

Brazos Christian is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will host the Sacred Heart Indians at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Sacred Heart will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Brazos Christian extended their winning streak to five last Friday. The Eagles breezed past Riesel to the tune of 35-0. Those 35 points were actually the fewest the Eagles have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Brazos Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hudson Jacobus out in front who threw for 265 yards and four TDs on only 18 passes. The Eagles' leading receiver Micah Saxe was Jacobus' top target yet again, picking up 141 receiving yards and three scores.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sacred Heart). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat St. Anthony 43-6. The Indians' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Brazos Christian's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Sacred Heart, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Everything came up roses for Brazos Christian against Sacred Heart in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 36-7 win. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
