Basketball Game Preview: Woodward Wildcats vs. Marie Philip Galloping Ghosts

The Woodward Wildcats will kick their season off against the Marie Philip Galloping Ghosts on Monday. Tip off is scheduled at 4:00 p.m.

Marie Philip came up into this matchup off a tough 27-point loss on Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of International School of Boston by a score of 26-23 on Wednesday. The match was a 10-10 toss-up at halftime, but the Galloping Ghosts couldn't quite close it out.

This is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

As for Woodward, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they finished on the wrong side of .500 (1-4), but they'll be hoping to turn things around this year.

Woodward skirted past Marie Philip 36-34 in their previous matchup back in February. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Marie Philip's Faith Kirlis, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 20 rebounds.
