A well-balanced attack led Cienega over Desert View in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Cienega Bobcats blew the Desert View Jaguars out of the water with a 92-44 final score. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Cienega's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marcos Rodriguez, who posted 12 points. That's the most points Rodriguez has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Pascal Hussein, who went 6 for 12 en route to 16 points.

Cienega was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

When it comes to explaining why Desert View lost, don't look at Luis Felix. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Robert Medrano was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Cienega's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.2 points per game. As for Desert View, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season.

Cienega will welcome Pueblo at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Cienega's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Desert View, they will head out to take on Buena at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Buena has six straight wins, Desert View has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
