Baseball Recap: ABF Academy Comes Up Short

The matchup between ABF Academy and Schoolhouse Prep on Monday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Cowboys took a 14-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolfpack. The Cowboys have struggled against the Wolfpack recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Kevin Bravo and Leandro Alvarez stepped up to the plate in a big way. Bravo scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Alvarez scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Bravo has become a key player for ABF Academy: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-11 otherwise.

ABF Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Schoolhouse Prep, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-8.

Coming up, ABF Academy will head out to take on Coral Springs Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Schoolhouse Prep, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 5-4 loss against Miami Christian on the 9th.
