Groves extended their winning streak to 13 games thanks to a huge performance from Tamiya Washington. The Rebels took down the Savannah Christian Raiders 18-0 on Thursday with plenty of help from Washington, who threw for 221 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 80% of her passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. She also deserves a shoutout for her performance on D, making three total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception.
Groves didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ja'Khiya Roberts, Washington, and Daphney Detty picked up one apiece.
Groves' victory bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Savannah Christian, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Coming up, Groves will head out to square off against New Hampstead at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Savannah Christian, they will be playing at home against Savannah Arts Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' defense has only allowed eight points per game this season, so the Raiders' offense will have their work cut out for them.
