Soccer Game Preview: Valley vs. Dirigo

The Valley Cavaliers will venture away from home to take on the Dirigo Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Dirigo took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Valley, who comes in off a win.

Valley's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Wiscasset 5-0. The result was nothing new for Valley, who have now won eight contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Dirigo came up short against Temple Academy on Thursday, falling 9-1. Dirigo have struggled against Temple Academy recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Dirigo's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Valley, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.

Everything went Valley's way against Dirigo in their previous meeting back in September, as Valley made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cavaliers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
