Softball Recap: Bellefonte Continues Road Dominance on Monday

Bellefonte had won three straight on the road, but on Monday they bumped their record up to 7-2 to make it four. They beat the Philipsburg-Osceola Mountaineers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-2. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Mountaineers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

As for Philipsburg-Osceola, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-4. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Philipsburg-Osceola's part, Alivia Bizzarri spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits. Bizzarri has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Emily Gustkey made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Coming up, Bellefonte will face off against Hollidaysburg at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Philipsburg-Osceola, they will take on Punxsutawney at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
