Softball Recap: Goochland Comes Up Short

Goochland and Culpeper County squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Goochland had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since April 25, 2024.

Goochland saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyndall Shapiro, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Goochland has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. As for Culpeper County, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-12.

As of now, neither Goochland nor the Blue Devils have any future games scheduled.
