Recap: Redondo Union Sea Hawks vs. Bishop Diego Cardinals
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Redondo Union Sea Hawks walked away with it. They secured a 29-23 W over Bishop Diego on Friday. For Redondo Union, this counts as revenge for the 51-3 defeat Bishop Diego walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2021.
Redondo Union's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Max Ausmus led the charge by picking up 105 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Nicholas London, who threw for 218 yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Bishop Diego saw an underclassman step up: Oscar Mauia rushed for 66 yards and two touchdowns.
Redondo Union's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Bishop Diego, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
Redondo Union will look to defend their home field on Friday against El Dorado at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (El Dorado is ranked 192nd, while Redondo Union is ranked 168th). Bishop Diego does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
