Columbus faced Fremont in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Discoverers never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-0 back in March.

Molly Goc and Abby Haynes scored both of Columbus' goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

The win made it two in a row for Columbus and bumps their season record up to 6-4. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matches. As for Fremont, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-5 record.

Looking ahead, Columbus will challenge Lincoln Southeast at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fremont, they will take on Lincoln North Star at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Fremont are facing Lincoln North Star at the right time seeing as Lincoln North Star are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
