League recap: Gegtskas overpowering for Windsor in past week

Windsor's Bobby Gegtskas was the best pitcher in Central Connecticut - North this week. He won one game and struck out 14 batters.

With a big week, East Catholic jumped into the top 25 in the state rankings. East Catholic moved up from No. 53 in the state all the way to No. 21 thanks to a 2-0 record over the past week. Led by manager Martin Fiori, the Eagles are ranked No. 3,297 in the nation with an overall record of 13-8.

The Warriors boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

Windsor's Gegtskas led the league in strikeouts this week with 14. He's second in the league with 30 total strikeouts.
