Basketball Recap: FAU High Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when FAU High faced off against Flanagan on Wednesday. The Owls fell 50-46 to the Falcons. The Owls have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Flanagan to victory were AJ Forges and Denzel Joseph. Forges dropped a double-double with 23 points and ten rebounds, while Joseph shot 60% from beyond the arc on his way to 24 points. Joseph is on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games he's played. Gianni Elpenord was another key player, putting up three points along with six assists and five steals.

FAU High's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Flanagan, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Coming up, FAU High will take on Berean Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Flanagan, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hallandale at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons will be up against the Chargers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 78.33 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
