Wilbur Cross's Stevie Swinson rumbled for the longest rushing play in Southern Connecticut Division I - East this season in his game against Amity Regional last week. Swinson scampered for 74 yards on the play and finished with 198 on the day as his team fell to the Spartans.

West Haven added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Hamden, 49-7. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.

Nick van Dell threw for 224 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 19-28 with 2 interceptions.

Nico Ragaini was the best receiver in the league this week as Notre Dame fell to Xavier. Ragaini tallied 7 receptions for 89 yards. Joseph Palmieri helped Notre Dame's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 72 yards.

Hand's van Dell and Tom Wilson have formed a dream team this season, leading Southern Connecticut Division I - East in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback van Dell has thrown for 1,326 yards this season, while Wilson has 33 catches for 519 yards. Wilbur Cross' Swinson leads the league in rushing yards with 1,050.

West Haven's Ervin Philips is a mere 16 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 135 carries Philips has accumulated 984 yard this year.

As it stands, the Governors are in third, while Ed McCarthy's team is in first.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Wilbur Cross takes on the Blue Devils. The Governors have allowed 160 points this season, while West Haven has given up 152. Wilbur Cross allowed 24 points last week as it lost to Amity Regional.

The Tigers and Shelton played the closest game in the league this week, with the Tigers eventually emerging with a 44-41 victory. Van Dell ran for 63 yards during the win.
