Volleyball Recap: Rolling Meadows Mustangs vs. Hoffman Estates Hawks
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Rolling Meadows can now relate to. They fell 2-0 to the Hoffman Estates Hawks on Saturday. The Mustangs just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.
Rolling Meadows was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Hoffman Estates work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 26-24.
Nikodem Opiola paced Rolling Meadows' offense, picking up eight kills. Opiola got some help from Logan Quadros and his 18 assists. Opiola was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.
Hoffman Estates was led to victory by Nathaniel Ham and Spencer Cruz. Ham had 17 assists, while Cruz had 11 digs.
Rolling Meadows' defeat dropped their record down to 12-21. As for Hoffman Estates, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-17.
Rolling Meadows does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hoffman Estates, they will take on Lake Park at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
