Regarded as high school basketball's top point guard prospect by 247Sports, Nico Mannion of Pinnacle (Phoenix, Ariz.) announced via Twitter on Friday he would be staying in-state to attend the University of Arizona.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound guard is regarded as No. 13 overall prospect in the Class of 2019 by 247Sports.
Mannion earned Arizona Gatorade Player of the Year honors after leading Pinnacle to Arizona's Class 6A state title in 2017-18, averaging 23.4 points, 5.8 assists and 4.7 rebounds per contest.

Arizona won out over Marquette, who was announced as a co-finalist a week ago. Duke, Kansas, UCLA and Villanova were among other college basketball heavyweights to extend an offer.

Mannion is head coach Sean Miller's first pledge from the 2019 class.
