Basketball Game Preview: West Shamokin Wolves vs. Conemaugh Township Indians

Having just played yesterday, the West Shamokin Wolves will get right back to it and host the Conemaugh Township Indians at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. West Shamokin will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, West Shamokin was able to grind out a solid win over River Valley, taking the game 62-49.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Conemaugh Township against Cambria Heights back in December of 2024 as the team secured a 66-26 victory. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 34 points or more this season.

West Shamokin better keep an eye on Ethan Matera. He was instrumental in Conemaugh Township's win, going 6 for 7 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. That's the most steals Matera has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brennan Lohr, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 16 points.

Conemaugh Township was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cambria Heights only posted four assists.

Conemaugh Township's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for West Shamokin, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.

West Shamokin came up short against Conemaugh Township in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 45-41. Thankfully for West Shamokin, Jon Updyke (who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
