4A Mid-South league recap: 5/7/12

The league's top two teams in the standings locked horns this week, as Terry Sanford took home a 4-3 victory over Cape Fear on May 3, 2012. Terry Sanford leads 4A Mid-South with a 10-0 record, and has an overall record of 14-6.

The Bulldogs (14-6, 10-0) are red-hot, having won four straight games, the longest such streak in the league. The streak was extended by another 2 games over the past week, includinga 4-3 victory over Cape Fear.

Cape Fear's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 14 hits and 10 walks to lead the league in both categories. The Colts have given up a mere 92 hits on the year in addition to compiling 198 strikeouts. Spencer Faircloth is the leader in that category with 93 Ks on the season.
