Softball Recap: Bell County Comes Up Short

Bell County had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 9-16 to make it four. They lost 9-0 to the Harlan Green Dragons. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Bobcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Bell County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adyson Scott, who went 2-for-3 with one double. That double was Scott's first of the season.

As for Harlan, their record now sits at 18-8. Considering they have won 14 games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

On Harlan's side, Jordyn Smith was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Smith has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Abby Fields and Ella Lisenbee did most of the damage at the plate: Fields went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI, while Lisenbee went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Fields has posted since back in March. Ella Farley was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Bell County nor Harlan have any future games scheduled.
