Bunn falls despite strong effort from Mercedes Fowler

The Bunn Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 59-10 loss at the hands of Franklinton. Bunn has struggled against Franklinton recently, as their contest on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Bunn still got an impressive performance from Mercedes Fowler, who scored six points.

Mikayla Taborn was her usual excellent self, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals for Franklinton. It was the first time this season that Taborn grabbed two or more steals. Rihanna Hunt was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.

Bunn's loss was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-17. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.6 points per game. As for Franklinton, the victory (which was their 18th in a row) raised their record to 18-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bunn will take on Southern Nash at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Franklinton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Northern Nash at 6:15 p.m. Northern Nash has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
