Basketball Recap: Katz Yeshiva Piles Up the Points Against Scheck Hillel Community School + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Katz Yeshiva). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Scheck Hillel Community School Lions 89-38. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 56-29.

Katz Yeshiva was led to victory by Nir Ovaknin and Abie Kaweblum. Ovaknin shot 60% from the field en route to 15 points and five boards, while Kaweblum made all 7 shots he took racking up 18 points and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Kaweblum now owns an excellent 50% field goal percentage. Dean Wasserman was another key player, putting up ten points.

Katz Yeshiva smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

The victory was the third in a row for Katz Yeshiva, bringing their record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.7 points over those games. As for Scheck Hillel Community School, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Katz Yeshiva will host Oxbridge Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Scheck Hillel Community School, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Cushman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
