Baseball Recap: Lamar Silver Foxes vs. Dillon Wildcats
Lamar had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Dillon Wildcats on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Silver Foxes as it spelled an end to their 11-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Tucker Watford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Cody Barr and Hayden Timmons did most of the damage at the plate: Barr scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Timmons scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Hill, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.
Dillon's loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Looking ahead, Lamar will challenge Great Falls at 6:30 p.m. on March 18th. As for Dillon, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Darlington at 6:30 p.m.
