Softball Recap: Waite Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lima Senior, Waite was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Rogers Rams with a sharp 29-14 victory. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Waite saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Destiny Garza, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases Garza has posted since back in April of 2025. SuRyah Quisno was another, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI.

Waite always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .760. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Waite's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Rogers, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Waite will welcome Emmanuel Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rogers, they are taking a road trip to take on Evergreen at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 10.6 runs per game this season.
