Volleyball Recap: Legacy Athletics Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Heritage Christian, Legacy Athletics was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Varsity Opponent. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on September 9th.

Legacy Athletics had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-8, 25-14, 25-16.

Julie Layaou paced Legacy Athletics' offense, picking up ten kills. Layaou got some help from Natalie Overby and her 17 assists. Atti Dyer controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Legacy Athletics' victory bumped their record up to 8-6.

Looking ahead, Legacy Athletics will take on Davidson Home Educators at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Varsity Opponent has already played their next match (against Horeb Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
