After a string of four wins, Perris's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They lost 77-55 to the Hemet Bulldogs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 67-56 on January 7th.
Hemet found their leader in sophomore Matthew Torres, who went 7 of 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 33 points and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Torres has scored all season. Elijah Alexander was another key player, going 5 for 8 en route to 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Perris' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-11. As for Hemet, the victory (which was their 18th in a row) raised their record to 18-2.
Perris will take on Citrus Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Perris knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 matchups -- so hopefully Citrus Hill likes a good challenge.
