Emmaus extended their winning streak to five on Monday, bumping their season record up to 17-3 in the process. They were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Parkland Trojans. Considering the Hornets have won 13 games by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Mari Eiswerth was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Eiswerth was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abigail Derr, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Avery DeFanti was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Emmaus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Parkland only posted an OBP of .400.
As for Parkland, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8. The defeat continues a trend for them in their meetings with Emmaus: they've now lost four in a row.
On Parkland's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elizabeth Pinkham, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Emmaus does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Parkland, they will square off against Pleasant Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 10.3 runs per game this season.
