Basketball Recap: Encinal Takes a Loss

Encinal entered their matchup against Ygnacio Valley on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Encinal Jets lost 85-65 to the Ygnacio Valley Wolves. That's two games in a row now that the Jets have lost by exactly 20 points.

Antonio Kellogg Jr continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Ygnacio Valley, dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten steals. The dominant performance gave Kellogg Jr a new career-high in steals. Todd Tatom Jr. was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Encinal and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Ygnacio Valley, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Encinal will take on Sonoma Valley in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ygnacio Valley and Pacifica Christian/Orange County will round out the year against one another at at 3:30 p.m. on December 26th.
