Softball Recap: Marais des Cygnes Valley Triumphs

Marais des Cygnes Valley's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 23-18 victory over the Oswego Indians. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Indians on Thursday, they had to take a 17-11 defeat.

Akyra Traver was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, seven stolen bases, and five runs. Those seven stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Taytum Gellhaus, who scored four runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-5.

The win got Marais des Cygnes Valley back to even at 1-1. As for Oswego, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Looking ahead, Marais des Cygnes Valley will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Horton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Marais des Cygnes Valley is facing Horton at the right time seeing as Horton is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Oswego does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
