Soccer Game Preview: Fort Osage vs. Platte County

The Fort Osage Indians will square off against the Platte County Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Platte County took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Fort Osage, who comes in off a win.

Fort Osage took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Ruskin an 8-0 shutout. Considering Fort Osage have won eight games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Platte County unfortunately witnessed the end of their 14-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Grain Valley by a score of 1-0. The shutout was out of character for Platte County seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Fort Osage has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 42 goals over those nine matchups. As for Platte County, their loss dropped their record down to 14-2.
