Baseball Recap: Northridge Comes Up Short

Northridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mountain View Mountain Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Grizzlies of the 12-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Jaycob Lermon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Matthew Casillas also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Northridge's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Mountain View, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Northridge will square off against rival Berthoud at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Mountain View is set to challenge their familiar foe Greeley Central at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
