Basketball Recap: Iris Lin Key Part of Team Effort in Jaguars Win

There's no place like home for Pope John Paul II, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against the Kentwood Kangaroos on Tuesday as they made off with a 43-21 win. With the Jaguars ahead 22-2 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Pope John Paul II's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Iris Lin, who went 7-for-12 on her way to 16 points. Those 16 points gave Lin a new career-high. Jaiden Campbell was another key player, putting up five points in addition to ten boards and six blocks.

Pope John Paul II smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

The win got Pope John Paul II back to even at 2-2. As for Kentwood, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pope John Paul II will welcome St. Katharine Drexel at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kentwood, they will be playing at home against Mt. Hermon at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
