Baseball Recap: Oswego East Takes a Loss

Oswego East managed to slip by Naperville Central the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wolves lost 7-1 to the Redhawks on Saturday. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Redhawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Devin Wheaton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Oswego East has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Naperville Central, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.

Coming up, Oswego East will face off against Plainfield North at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Naperville Central, they will square off against DeKalb at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Barbs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Redhawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
